Some while back I read an article, perhaps written by Bob Pease, that described an interesting moment in simulation using an analog computer. As I recall, the US Navy had a team evaluating a submarine trainer built on an analog computer simulation...
Hackaday is giving away posters of the Halloween Hackfest art! Four randomly selected projects will be drawn each week on Wednesdays until the end of the contest. All you need to do is submit a project to the contest to be entered in the drawing.
Getting started. I just received a Teensy4.0 and corresponding sound board. I want to create a DSP automatic gain control algorithm for listening to my un-normalized mp3 files or my TV where the volume of commercials remains equivalent to that of the...
I have a project I'm working on that needs a power solution. The issue is, what I need to power is a Raspberry Pi 4 and a very hungry screen.I've found that the screen is happy only with at least 10W of power, so that leaves me trying to fit a ~5A@5V...
This is a weird question, and I don't really even have the prerequisite knowledge to ask it properly, but basically, I would like to mess with my car's (E30) OBC (On Board Computer). I found a PDF (https://www.millerperformancecars.com/files/bmw%20electrical%20manual/1989%20BMW%20325i%20-%20325is%20Electrical%20Troubleshooting%20Manual.pdf...
(This is my first post, I hope I don't break any rule)I'm looking for the TINIEST realistic motherboard and battery to make some kind of e-reader : drive a 8" e-ink screen (normal refresh rate); high polling rate for the digitizer (>= 180Hz); ...
anyone ever build a format converter for this? a number of years ago a company named presonus did. it was a 2 port 25 pin db connector input to 2 firewire 400 ( i think) outputs. they are no longer available. the 25 pin connector was a roland r-bus format...
Is Hackaday an appropriate place to out evil hacks so that people will be on guard against them and thus safer? I can't see going straight to the public police with something highly technical.
Is anyone interested in creating a written or possibly a video series on programming microcontrollers in BASCOM ? I think it is the simplest language for newcomers, but there aren't many good, extremely basic tutorials on the subject. The learning curve...
Short & sweet, I'm looking to get 1000 rpms from the slowest wheel imaginable. Such as one that revolves once per day, for example. I can construct a gearbox, but I just have this feeling there might be other ways I haven'd thought of. Can...
getting tired of my roommates leaving their shit in the washer/dryer so I am thinking of a project to send a notification in the groupchat. main problem is how to know when it is done. current ideas: a plug that knows the electricity draw and when...
Hello! Today I started work on (basically) my first ever analog circuit. It will probably be familiar to most of you: a LDR in a voltage divider to light up an incandescent Christmas light. I set it up, plugged my multimeter into Vout, and the logic...
I'm thinking of making a project exercise machine that uses different weights for the positive and negative portions of an exercise. Right now I'm just researching the feasibility. I want to construct a machine for exercises that cover the upper body....
Use a car USB plug in power supply and wire to output of battery. Look for one the is rated for 12-24vdc. 12vdc is common for cars and 24vdc is common for heavy equipment and trucks, most plugs seem to work with both.
