In 2014, Katie and I attended a local art show and created live, personal, biometric art for attendees. We put on lab coats and everything. When people are hooked up to The Philometer they will pretty much tell you anything and the reactions were priceless....
This project has had way more setbacks then i ever thought were possible. For the last week or two I've been trying to work with the pi to control the audio on the speakers. Unfortunately the player i'm using (omxplayer) doesn't support volume control...
I have access to a small CNC-Milling machine. Therefore I designed an 1-layer board with relative thick traces 0.4mm (15.75 mils). I wasn't able to route everything on the top layer, so I have to use some jumper wires for the bottom layer.
I just had a thought — I would never need to check the SPI's busy state if I just added wait states when you try to do an IN or OUT while its busy. Then everything could really run at full speed.
Todo : 1. Ordering components : more NeoPixels, dot-matrix LEDs. (Wemos D1 Mini, Wood and Plexiglass are 'in stock')2. Make CAD model in order to do the CNC milling and make sure everything will with fit together3. Write Software - Using Visual Studio,...
Here a screenshot of the routing in progress:I might have to use 6 layers instead of the original 4 to fully fit everything. I expect the routing to be complete by this week-end after which I will release the design to manufacturing.
Here's how the board looks, courtesy KiCAD's 3D renderer:It measures 10cmx6cm in size. I was able to pack everything in 4 layers. The board goes out for fabrication on Monday.
The test ROM is now loading a boot block from the CF adapter and running it correctly. In theory that means we have everything needed to run ElfOS providing a paged RAM or banked memory card is used so the ROM can be banked out.
Just clean the lock, that should fix everything, right? How hard could it be? The latch on the 100-year-old Russwin 1213 mortise lock was sticking in the open position and it seemed like all it would need is a good cleaning and lube. My plan...
I also installed a USB soundcard for better Sound and Mic support, a 2W Speaker and switches for secureity to turn of the Mic. Everything should work now.
Nothing changed from the last update. The parts arrived and we got measurements to make sure everything will fit. Next week's update will have more to say.Signing Off For Now-Jacob
