Bug report: Errors trying to edit hackaday.io profile
pastcompute wrote 03/27/2016 at 11:57 • 1 pointI am trying to add a second project to my hackaday.io profile, but no matter what I do, every time I hit save I get the response "Link title can't be blank" and no changes I make are persisted.

In my case, the twitter and github descriptive titles were blank (but it still had the twitter and github icon there), but somehow had a twitter and github URL attached already. Then when I went to save my profile without modifying it, it would give this error. I deleted and re-added the twitter and github accounts and now it has the appropriate descriptive title ("Twitter"/"GitHub"), and I can save my profile.
I suspect this affects older accounts, possibly that you couldn't add descriptive titles before and then they added it in?

Thanks. I did this just now:
open profile
edit profile
delete the only 'things I've built' entry (the only place with any link in the edit)
save profile
this then triggers the error message, and the entry I tried to delete is still there
(not that I'm trying to delete it, I'm actually trying to add more)

Or more clearly, if I type in absolutely nothing new at all I still get the error

I got the same error message. I wanted to add a new external link on my profile. I did fill in a link title but it was not recognized. Maybe this is what pastcompute means.

Sorry about that, for now can you try typing both a descriptive title and url in the external links section for each link like this example, and then try clicking save, until we can resolve the issue.

My profile already exists. Just hitting save after changing any field at all (for example, typing one extra full stop into the end of 'summarise yourself')... um how do I post a screenshot here?

you may need to put a "." or an "x" in there as a workaround
