What can be embedded on HAD.io
Hacker404 wrote 07/28/2016 at 05:44 • 0 pointsI did see that someone had a 3D render embedded into a page. Is there a list somewhere? What about bb codes - which are accepted?
I am temped to come back here but as HAD.io don't even allow file uploads - I will have to setup a supporting server. That would be waste of time if I can't embed into HAD.io pages.

OK, I had a look and I can't find what I saw the first time.
Turning the problem on it's head - it seems that the common ways to achieve this on other sites is with HTML <ifram> or Javascript. One option you may explore here is a server side plugin called "WP ViewSTL" https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-viewstl/ but I don't know if it is supported here. Here is an online viewer (with examples) http://www.viewstl.com/
Another approach that is probably popular here is a github service that puts a linked image on HAD that links back to github. An exaplle here - https://hackaday.io/project/11307-deepicbot/log/36670-upload-stl-files-for-3d-printing-to-github
Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Can you point me to the embedded 3D render? I've tried to do this here with no luck.
You can upload files to the "files" section of a project. I haven't tried to do an upload from HMTL/JS, but I'm not surprised it doesn't work - this would allow any non-logged-in reader to upload files, right?
I ended up with a supporting server, but I had it around already.
