It appears that it should not be too difficult to layout the circuit.   I'd be interested to see if a lower cost solution can be created than having to buy their breakout board.

That's interesting, the circuit looks a bit different, but the labels on the panel are nearly the same, and the style of the circuit drawing is the same, as for the E2417ES053 display I plan to use for my ePaper project ( http://www.pervasivedisplays.com/products/420 )

I wonder if they buy the same display components from one big manufacturer and just assemble their displays. The 2.87" red/black/white Pervasive Display costs $38.70 in single quantities, much more expensive than the 2.13" Good Display display for $8. If the quality is the same, might be good when I change to the Good Display type for my project. I guess the circuit is the same for all their displays? Do you have already an OSH Park link for a breakout board? I could then compare it.

That's just the display alone. It requires pretty crazy voltages and signals (+/-15V). The same display with a breakout board that you can connect to your MCU is $37.

Good point.  I ordered the display with breakout board yesterday to see what it is composed.  I didn't realize the display required such large voltages.  -Drew

There is a schematic in the datasheet -- from what I can tell, it simply has a two-diode voltage multiplier in there.

+/-15V is pretty standard for the eink displays -- I believe the kindle screen uses the same.
