LOL "Additional advantages... include... low chances of injury as the keyboard is not mechanical" :)

That would be the main gripe I would have with it as a touch typist. However, the tradeoff of the keyboard being able to reconfigure into anything would be a welcome plus. I was wondering what happened to it, because I have been sitting around with my tablet and phone recently and wishing I could use the phone as a trackpad for the tablet. Maybe someone with some Android coding skills could make the poor man's version of this?

I've heard of such things... e.g. way back in the day my Palm Pilot could be used as a mouse for my computer... And, now, with Wifi/bluetooth-Everything, it seems that'd be even easier. There must be something.
'I couldn't think of "modular"' Aren't those moments fun? :) Wonder how long it'll be until a search-engine can fix that... though it'd take away from the fun of forum-postings like these!

The Google Play store has a couple mouse/keyboard apps, but they have been released in the last year or so. It's totally possible, and doesn't seem to be that crazy. If I knew anything about Android Dev, I would be on it.
I hate it when I can't think of the proper search terms to caress Google into giving me what I want, lol. It only makes it worse when you KNOW it's out there and keep coming up empty.

Sometimes the only way to do it is something like "android keyboard NOT USB NOT ..." with nothing specific and 100+ NOTs :)

Yeah, that was it! I couldn't think of "modular", lol. The precursor to that, the Bento Box is what I was remembering. It was the winner of a design contest, that was the source of my confusion thinking it was a Kickstarter. Thanks, that was bugging the life out of me!

Are you thinking of the 2013 fujitsu lifebook concept? http://goo.gl/WptVrC
A few other similar ideas come up when you google 'modular laptop concept' if that wasn't it but I can't seem to unearth anything that had an associated Kickstarter.

More info: I think it had a Kickstarter. It was a 3D printed enclosure with slots to hold your tablet and/or smartphone. It may have had a screen too, I can't recall. But it used the processors on your attached machines to drive the graphics and everything. I might have just dreamed it, lol
