eh. Maybe it'll turn into somthing. But right now, the "Make" brand kinda seems like a giant sudo-DIY circlejerk. Look on their website - it's very bloggy, commercialized, and weird... if you want real projects from real people, hackaday and instructables are the places to go.
Well it might fit right between hackaday.io and instructables and will get some attention and drifters and MakerFaires are a big thing(?) to promote such a platform.

Yeah MakerFaires are a thing. I suppose if it's a decent platform without censorship it can't hurt
