I am toying with removing it from it's case to see what can be done to save space with it. If i don't I will probably fix it along the top or bottom panel, with the USB ports facing inwards. This will allow for USB cables to be plugged in without adding to the depth of the build.
I also need to decide whether to use my Rpi B or Rpi A+. Decisions, decisions! :-)
I've been lucky enough to have a few offers to help me out with my CAD Design! Alex Rich has offered to help too, and has mentioned using something like https://www.onshape.com/ to collaborate on the CAD design - I just need to measure some components up tomorrow and givework out some rough measurements for my enclosure. Would you mind if I added you as a contributor and include you in the Onshape collaboration?
While I am roughly thinking of a shape pictured on my project I am open to suggestions :-)

Good thinking! Most of these things are EBay specials :-)
Buttons: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR6.TRC1.A0.H0.X28mm+arcade+button.TRS0&_nkw=28mm+arcade+button&_sacat=0
They are 28mm diameter, however it's the depth I am unsure. Not sure if they are a standard size or not.
If they are quite deep i will organise my internal components around them and not put anything under them.
another troublesome component is this bad lad:

Do you have a simple drawing of what you're looking for? If it's not too complex I could crank out a cad model for you pretty fast. Let me know.
