Living Robots

The goal of this project is to create robots that are relatable and comfortable from the human perspective.

I've always found modern robots uncomfortable and inhuman (as in characteristically non-living). It strikes me that the reason we don't have robots in our homes is because, emotionally, we can't relate to them. I want to dive into the features and behaviors that get people to anthropomorphize non-living things.

The primary function of this project will not be to create an individual robot with these things in mind, but instead to build a collection of information, code, studies, and designs that can be applied to a robotics platform. With that in mind, I'll still be building a specific platform to test and develop new hypothesis. I intend to explore new modes of control theory as well as human relatability.
