Using an Interlink force-sensing resistor, the user can slide and tap on the surface of the device, where the switch would be in the older version, in order to control the device. An idea is to double-tap to switch between solder mode and power set mode. In solder mode, the user can press on the sensor to activate the heating element after a certain minimum force is achieved. In power set mode, the user slides their finger across the sensor to adjust the power. The user can quadruple tap to lock and unlock the device. The device shuts down or sleep mode after 5 minutes of idle. Maybe after 10 or 15 minutes it will automatically go in to lock mode if it’s not too inconvenient.
