Repairing a brand new Cushcraft beam antenna

Cost cutting schemes left a brand new expensive antenna unusable. https://youtu.be/jqjbRKKL_68

The construction of the traps on this beam was terrible and lead to intermittent operation. We had to tear down and beef up 12 of the 14 traps, with just a bit less work required on the remaining two.
Both Cushcraft and DX Engineering viewed the video and responded to the owner with corrospondence that is covered in the follow up video. (linked in the description)
A total success. The rebuild produced performance you'd expect in a new product.

Caveat emptor, eh? Hard to believe that got past QA, but then again, I've heard some unsavory things about MFJ products. Didn't think that would have bled over to the Cushcraft side of operations, but there you go. Good catch, and thanks for the instructive video.
