Scarab is a beetle-shaped circuit board with 18 multiplexed LEDs (3x8) controlled by a Microchip ATtiny1614. The square pad on the top — with the 'B' on it — is a capacitve-touch 'button' used to interact with the Scarab and change between the various light shows.

The top side of the PCB has two layers of soldermask: first green and then red. Then, en ENIG finish. It was expertly produced by Eurocircuits as part of a exploratory collaboration.

I designed the Scarab using my open source PCB design software called PCBmodE.

I'm currently developing the software for the MCU.
