w26 is (even more likely) maximal !

A project log for PEAC Pisano with End-Around Carry algorithm

Add X to Y and Y to X, says the song. And carry on.

As I supposed, w26 is "good", or "maximal" !

The computation of the 64 million semi-arcs is complete and the sum is precisely 2251799847239679, as expected and according to the formula.

Since the sum is perfect, I'm tempted to say that the fusion is not required for confirmation but w24 too has a perfect sum yet is known to not be maximal. OTOH, during the linear scan, w26 has shown signs that it is maximal so the fusion should be another confirmation rather than a surprise.

Anyway this is a great milestone that is finally achieved (let's see the results of the fusion), yet w32 is 4096 times more difficult to reach. The quest is far from over.

.

Update 20210109:

Look at 105. Fusion 4: it works for the final confirmation.

PS:

Maybe w26 is "perfect". Which could explain the fiasco during the first, 2-month long scan, where the scan didn't end as expected. Unfortunately I don't have enough data to determine this property yet.
