That project uses an esp32 for Bluetooth A2DP combined with an VS1053 to decode audio.
It allows you to stream audio from your phone to an old stereo.

To increase range, I’ve connected an external antenna which make is a lot more reliable.


I’ve built a first one using an Adafruit VS1053 breakout and connecting an external antenna to increate range (https://github.com/paulgreg/esp32-bluetooth-audio-adafruit/)

I’ve built more using ESP32-WROOM-32U with external antenna and generic VS1053 MP3 breakout (https://github.com/paulgreg/esp32-bluetooth-audio-generic).
