This project is a set a test leads with contacts specially designed for breadboard use. These test leads are desgined for connecting a multi-meter or power supply to a solderless breadboard.

Breadboard Test Leads - Rev2 are open-source and lisenced under Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0).

Rev2 will feature a 0.5mm circular steel gold-plated pin, to connect to the breadboard contacts. (0.5mm is the standard size of a resistor or capacitor leg.) We completely redesign the molded strain relief for the needle heads. The new design is minimalist and discreet. The molded strain relief is going to be made from TPE (a soft elastic material).

The wire is going to be 1 meter long and the insulation material will be soft silicone.  The wire gauge will be 24AWG with 40 copper strands.

We are also going to use gold-plated stackable banana plugs with a low contact resistance.

I ordered some samples of the components that will be used in Rev2. They will arrive in about 1-2 weeks.

The current price point for Rev2 is around $14.

With the current timeline, Rev2 could be in production around mid-August or early-September. I plan to use the rest of this month to prefect the new design.

If anyone has any suggestions for Rev2, please let me know. I still have plenty of time to make changes.

I would like to know what you all think about the new test leads.

Should I invest the money to have these test leads manufactured? Also, what do you think about Kickstarter/Indiegogo?
