The Piranha Plant

Our idea is to create an interactive lamp that comes from the universe of Super Mario Bros

Similar projects worth following
Our project draws inspiration from the magical world of movie props, aligning itself with the lineage of iconic film accessories. We have chosen to immerse ourselves in the beloved universe of Mario. From this world, our creation was born: the mythical Piranha Plant. Transforming this formidable creature into a unique decorative piece, we have metamorphosed the Piranha Plant into a lamp, thus merging video games and luminous art to provide a captivating and playful visual experience

After several changes of ideas, exploring interactive art, a modern lamp shaped like a cloud, and even an interactive maze made of cardboard, we ultimately settled on a Piranha Plant-shaped lamp. Our goal was to faithfully recreate the iconic game plant while turning it into a functional and stylish object. To achieve this, we integrated sensors: one to control the up and down movement of the Piranha Plant in the tunnel, similar to the game, and another to activate the lighting feature located in the head of this famous plant.

    Modelisation

1st step : To begin our project the look of it is really important that's why we had to modelize our pirhana plant

2nd step : We have to design 3 parts :

    - the head (we choose to do it in translucid PLA to be sure that the light will go through it)

    - the tunnal

    - the pipe (that will go up and down)

We added a platform at the bottom of the pipe so that we can attach the linear sensor that will ensure the moving

    3rd step :

    Assemble everything
