This project was created on 10/15/2017 and last updated 2 years ago.

Description

A different approach to automating your home by exploiting the regular switchboards present in most of our home. Replaces the standard AC fuse placed on Electrical Switchboards. It monitors the Power consumption of all the appliances connected to that board. It can also power off the entire board in case there are no occupants in that room. It doesn't need to modify the board just pull out the normal fuse and plug this in its place and you have got your room automated, hence the name.
Power consumption can be monitored and the device can be configured through your smartphone. Planning of adding an OLED display in next versions of the hardware to display the real-time feed right on the board itself.

Components

  • 1 × ACS712 In series Current measurement module IC
  • 1 × Arduino(Bluetooth HC 05) or ESP8266(future)
  • 1 × 5v Relay For turning off all appliances
  • 1 × AC Fuse 13A In series for safety
  • 1 × 5v AC-DC power supply module
