My Father + I joined a desktop power supply with a laptop power supply. Soldered the 3 wires of the laptop psu(gnd,neutral,120vac) to an intermediary board on the desktop psu. We tested the unit very cautiously. shut off circuit via the house circuit breaker to the outlet the psu would be plugged into. plugged the desktop power supply into a power outlet surge suppressor all to protect us and the circuit we were plugging the psu into.

Output before modifying laptop psu: 19.51 v

  • 1 × Soldering Iron
  • 1 × Solder
  • 1 × 18 gauge wire 3ft
  • 1 × 1/8" Heat Shrink 6 inches
  • 3 × AMP Butt Splices 14-16 gauge
