Developing a simple and inexpensive microscope based on the RPi to be used in education and by citizen cientists
The whole idea started when I was playing with Mathematica on the Pi for image analysis. A local shop ordered some WaveShare RPi cameras with M12 lenses.
It tured out that, while not perfect, the incorporated lenses would allow to use the camera for documentation of rather small objects.
As a next step, a frame for the camera was constructed using LEGO parts from my son's collection. Then, undergoing several iteration steps, an optimized and easy to assemble version made from laser-cut acrylic parts was constructed.
Currently some further improvements concerning other lenses and automation of the movement ware tested,
