SmartWatch Life Extender

Similar projects worth following
The biggest challenge of the forthcoming smart watch era the battery life. The today’s smartphones are able to work without charging for one or two days. The users of smartphones expect much more than this.
Increase of the energy stored in the battery will advance in the time as the advance of the technology allows it.
But what about the physical size of the battery? We are talking about a smart watch. It is wear on your wrist. This maximize the size the watch and the battery with it.
This maximize the size of the battery. It should fit in the watch itself.
This kind of thinking is wrong. All of the manufacturers forget something. They treat the wristband as an accessory and not as integral part of the watch. What if we look to the wristband different way. What if the wristband is made from equally sized rectangles formed from batteries?
Stay tuned, more to come…

I wonder if instead of just thinking about the wrist band, you could make the case of the watch also store a charge. So the electronics are housed within the battery

Pretty cool idea, actually. I'd love for this to be compatible with existing smartwatches, like my pebble.

Also, you got project ID 1337. Lucky you!

Battery life is going to be a huge issue with smart watches. With power hungry screens and radios, these things are going to need some help! Thanks for entering SWLE in The Hackaday Prize! Put up some information when you can - time is slowly ticking away (much like a smart watch battery!)

Thank you!
I'll try to put some design ideas when I can. Unfortunately the time is the thing what I not really have nowadays.
