    The first prototype is working!

I built it using a 3D printed hammer and trigger, which is for the moment operated with the finger (I plan on building a foot pedal prototype in the weeks to come).

The trigger has an end stop, such that when triggered slowly, the hammer will not touch the string. When triggered with a proper speed, the momentum of the hammer carries it to hit the string, where it bounces back. This way, it is not possible to hold the hammer on the string by continuously pulling the trigger, which would result in the string buzzing.

As the trigger is sliding, there is quite some friction, so I am planning to build the next version using rotational movement and a ball bearing. All in all, the principle seems to work fine though.
