I'm working with some family members to develop a capsule that helps in preservation of fruit susceptible to botrytis in cold storage. Currently, disposable pads like the one in the photo are filled with sodium meta-bisulfite, interacting with humidity in shipping containers for certain produce and flowers releasing SO2 into the air thus keeping the food fresh. I'm aiming to develop a capsule that could do the same as the pads, but more precisely regulated, and simultaneously reusable.
