The headmount of the Acer AH101 always felt uncomfortable and limited the joy i had with it in VR. The pressure on my forehead was light, but over time became unbearing. Also it was hard to adjust it right in order for the image to be sharp and have the lenses centered in front of my eyes.
It was quite easy to dismount the original headmount, I just unscrewed all the screws to remove plastic that goes to the face (does it have a name?). Then i shortened an old small metal rod from a plastic screwdriver and placed it where the original "halo" was mounted.
Then i noticed that the Oculus headstrap was sticking so tightly to the velcro that i didn't had use any adhesives to stick the sidebands on the headset.
And that was it. Acer AH101 with Oculus DK1 headstrap.
Lighter and more comfortable.
