IoThermometer

Simple through-hole temperature sensor design for Home Assistant with the ESPHome firmware

Similar projects worth following
Not much to this guy, just a basic board layout to connect a DHT22 temperature/humidity sensor to a NodeMCU, along with an example ESPHome firmware configuration to use it with Home Assistant.

RANT: I've noticed that a lot of smart home projects like to start from scratch and include everything, sensor modules, switch modules central controller and android/webapp. Don't take on too much or reinvent the wheel! Home Assistant and ESPHome are great projects and let me focus on hardware. The developers have spent lots of time and effort making wonderful software, take advantage of it! If you want to make hardware, put your effort into making great hardware!
