It is so simple that it can be made by anyone who has the most basic knowledge in the field of electrical engineering. And most importantly, the cost of the parts needed to make it is minimal.

It is also made exclusively of passive components, which makes it virtually indestructible.
And finally the results are fantastic. We get a spark with a length of up to ten centimeters, which is difficult to achieve with much more complex designs. I will forget to say that the device is powered directly from AC line 220V and there is no need to use expensive and oversized transformers.
As can be seen from the diagram, the transformer is composed of only a few components:

- Fluorescent lamp ballast 1 or 2 pcs. Instead of a ballast that is difficult to obtain nowadays, an incandescent lamp with a power of 200 or 300 watts can be used.
     - Electromagnetic relay designed to operate at 220 volts. In this case I use a modified old doorbell.
     - Capacitor 27nF MKP type with voltage of 400 volts or more (the exact value is determined experimentally depending on the windings of the transformer)
     - Fuse 0.5A
     - And of course primary and secondary winding. In my case the primary winding contains 5 windings of copper wire with a diameter of 2.5 mm on a body with a diameter of 8 cm, and the secondary 1000 winding copper insulated wire with a diameter of 0.2 mm wound on a plastic body with a diameter of 5 cm.

You can see a more detailed description of the work as well as the results obtained on this incredibly simple Tesla Coil in the video. The power consumption of the device measured with my wattmeter is about 30-35 watts.

And a very important note: The device is powered directly on 220V so you must adhere to all safety rules.
