Have you ever been in the middle of a project and just needed /one/ particular component to finish? While we usually have a vague idea as to what pieces and parts are in what common devices, this project aims to create a comprehensive guide to knowing exactly what you have to take apart to find them. I'll be ripping apart different tech and cataloguing it's components to find their common pieces; that way we can hopefully mitigate the "postponing projects because I still don't have that exact part," aspect of making things.
This is by no means a closed project, and I'm posting it here to 1) keep myself from shelving this project, 2) Allow other people to critique my format to find a universal "best" way to catalogue. and 3) So others who are interested can help add to it!
My Messy doc about what I'm trying to catalogue as well as notes on my thoughts for cataloging. Has several notes I want to keep track of, a list of things I want to catalogue, and the project goal.
This is the most updated (02/22/21) format for entries. This is supposed to be more of a checklist to reduce time spent compiling data in the end. This is to make the process relatively universal, and streamline the recording process. Updated to sort hardware in alphabetical order to be easier to find. Electrical isn't sorted that way because my brain liked the current format better
