Connecting the GGreg20_V3 Geiger counter to the Home Assistant Server via ESPHome
09/20/2022 at 18:30 • 0 commentsWe offer you the procedure of connecting the #GGreg20_V3 Ionizing Radiation Detector Geiger counter (sensor) in combination with the main controller ESP8266 or ESP32 to the Home Assistant server via the ESPHome plug-in.
If you already have experience setting up and deploying devices in ESPHome running Home Assistant, you can skip the introductory sections and go straight to the example of a configuration yaml file that you can use as a basis for your own system and devices.
All sample files are working and run on a real-deployed server and controller ESP8266 with a GGreg20 Geiger counter. ESP32 is also supported by ESPHome and on the example of ESP8266, the reader can make a variant of the yaml file for the ESP32 platform. In this publication, we demonstrate how to work with ESP32 in a limited way, because in terms of ESPHome and Home Assistant settings, the ESP8266 and ESP32 platforms are almost the same...

Minor hardware changes in the Geiger counter GGreg20_V3 module
09/19/2022 at 16:51 • 0 commentsThanks to our customers, we collected some statistics and received feedback on the different modes of use of our GGreg20_V3 Geiger counter product by users and came to the conclusion that it would be more convenient to fix the voltage in the high-voltage part of the module.
Please note that from September 1, 2022, the function of high voltage regulation has been removed. The voltage level of 400 volts is fixed by hardware means.
This does not change the hardware scheme or functionality of the module. And it only simplifies the initial configuration of the module. From now on, the user does not even need to think about whether the voltage level in the high-voltage part of GGreg20_V3 is set correctly.
At the same time, if you need a module with high voltage regulation for your project, please consider the module DCDC_3V3_400V_V1: High Voltage Module.
