During the chip shortage many of us had to pay huge premium for MCUs that we didn't even counted before. I spent some time for looking around alternatives that are low-cost and readily available. After all it kind of strange paying $5 for chips having ¢50 MSRP.
The STM8S003 development board is a low-cost and easy-to-use board that provides a drop-in replacement for the popular Arduino Nano. The board is based on the STM8S003F3 microcontroller, which offers reasonable performance and low power consumption. It offers a wide range of features, including 16 MHz clock speed, 8 KB of flash memory, 1 KB of RAM, and 128 bytes of EEPROM. It also supports a variety of communication protocols, including SPI, I2C, and UART.
It includes all the necessary components for the microcontroller, including a USB port for easy communication with a computer and programming header for ST-link programmer.
