Using an Arduino Uno, 2.8" TFT Display and an ADXL345 accelerometer I developed this acceleration meter, designed to measure the current acceleration values of your car! The unit is capable of providing axial, lateral and vertical acceleration values.
The accelerometer provides live acceleration values for the vehicle, these are in the axial, lateral and vertical directions. They are converted into a "g" value. The TFT LCD is used to display the user interface. Acceleration values can either be viewed numerically or graphically (as shown in the pictures), the unit also tracks the session and all time maximum acceleration values! There is also a settings screen that shows the current configuration of the unit.
Although the majority of the work is done, this device is still under development! The software and information about the hardware are available on my github which is linked below.
The following points still have to be implemented:
- Settings Screen
Elegoo 2.8" TFT Display
The Display used for the main UI of the meter.
ADXL345 Breakout Board
The accelerometer breakout board, provides SPI and I2C communication protocols.
