Neopixel TRINKET

This project was created on 11/17/2014 and last updated 6 years ago.

Description

Hook a Neopixel ring up to a Trinket, attach to chest, and now you're Iron Man. Just for fun, there are a few modes in addition to swirly blue.

Components

  • 1 × Adafruit Trinket 3.3V http://www.adafruit.com/products/1500
  • 1 × 16 Neopixel Ring http://www.adafruit.com/products/1463
  • 1 × Tactile Button http://www.adafruit.com/product/367
  • 1 × 3xAA Battery Pack
  • 1 × Chest Strap I cut off the waistband of an old pair of boxers. Classy.

  • A few different modes

    dhgoldberg • 12/02/2014 at 03:14 • 0 comments

For fun I added a couple extra visual modes that I can cycle through with the pushbutton. People seemed to like the red-blue combo the most. If you can catch it in the video, the different colors cycle at different speeds.

  • Slick Button Placement

    dhgoldberg • 12/01/2014 at 03:44 • 0 comments

You can solder a small tactile button directly to the Trinket from 3V (or 5V) to Pin 1 and the LED circuit will act as a pull down. Helpful for reducing wiring in a simple and quick project like this one. Inspiration from here (see bullet 2): https://learn.adafruit.com/tap-tempo-trinket/things-learned
