I have noticed that oftenly when you edit something (either a page, or a log or even a project description), some parts of the the text simply disappear. It just happens now when I clicked to edit this feedback.
Two bugs I just noticed while trying to update a few things:
1) Under account settings, the sidebar options (i.e. change my password) are not clickable elements, and therefore I was unable to travel to those pages.
2) Upon attempting to update my profile, I would make the changes to my bio, hit the save button at the bottom, and it would bring me back to "My Feed." When I would return to my profile, the bio would not be updated, and clicking edit my profile would reveal that my changes were not saved.
Thanks will look into this. 1.) These nav items are using javascript there might be an issue there. 2.) Editing and saving profile should return to your profile with a gold banner at the top that says "changes have been saved".
Update: I just tried updating my profile from a different device and it worked successfully. If it helps, the first device was a MacBook Pro running Chrome, and the second device was a Windows PC running Chrome as well.
Ok good to hear. Should have no problem with chrome/mac, could be a misbehaving extension?
Towards the end of the 1970's I was working for a small "custom design" contract house in Los Angeles. We did stuff for Hughes, couple of other aerospace companies, Halliburton, .... We got an RFQ from (IIRC) Rockwell to do a bubble memory tester. I read it and the data sheets for the device, and suggested that we do a "no bid" really fast.
There are enough users on here now with similar names this is becoming an issue. Room sensitive @username listings. So if you are in a room with @blah then you don't need to scroll through or guess from 10 different @blah usernames. The one which matches the people in the room you are in could show up first.
I don't immediately see a way to add video to our project's gallery. Am I just missing something obvious? Video has done so much for makers on Instagram to get their projects out into the world.
It's kind of a round-about way to do it but if you add videos to your logs, they should display automatically in the project gallery. See https://hackaday.io/project/26947/gallery#a3299677e474b5d3292ba69e54c98ff2
The edit project page is only for uploading the initial 6 or so images, all other gallery images and videos are automatically populated from the logs.
Found a bug for someone to splat. Posted a DailyMotion video link in the Chat interface for someone, but I wanted it to start at a specific time. This is done with https://www.dailymotion.com/video/[video]?start=[#/sec in you want it to start] -- except that the page preview widget strips out the question mark and everything after! Not cool, bro :(
You think we can get the ability to have a javascript STL file viewer here?
It's a couple lines of javascript now, but of course I can't add that myself and iframes are not allowed.
For some reason I am not able to add or modify projects logs in a project I am team member of (Hackaday TTLers). What is going on?
You should be able to create new logs if you are a team member, I'll double check for you.
What does this page say when you visit it? https://hackaday.io/project/8449/log/add
Interesting. I can add a log via this link. I cannot find this link anywhere in the project though. I also cannot edit logs by other members of the project (maybe that is intentional).
Ok, I found that one now too. I was looking for "add a project log" button below the last log page, like it appears in my personal projects. I assume this does only appear if I also authored the last log? Does this make sense?
Bug report?: everytime I post a new project it gets deleted within a few days. No email or notice given.
Bug report: EasyZoom embeds into the preview of project logs, but goes away when you save or publish.
Already getting spammed by your PM system, how do I block it ? I don't wish to have a public profile here.
you can change the frequency of your emails in profile >> settings
I want NO emails. Is that an option ? I have no wish to talk to pretty Thai girls who are offering to send me their pictures....
I can't verify my email because a message says invalid token (expired) is always returned. Could you please tell me what to do?
There may be something wrong in the formatting.
I am adding links to a details section and the link expands to the rest of the copy.
The workaround is fixing it in html, but after an html edit, it is hard to make the other features (bold, bullets etc.) work.
Anyone else?
Not seeing any issue here, was the details text copy and pasted from somewhere else?
In one on my pages https://hackaday.io/page/6016-make-5v-power-supplies-from-surplus-power-adaptors I now have an invalid equation where it used to be a valid LaTeX equation when I published ages ago. Has something changed in the website software recently?
Strange, it's started working again. But I noticed when it wasn't working it was a link to a formula generation site, now it's an inline image. Oh well, as long as it works. Thanks.
https://hackaday.io/project/165952-clone-a-usb-key-software-solution/details#header
is a glorified advert for a usb cracking service. not really what I expect from hackaday
Maybe what you expect from Hakaday is worth looking for it?
Do you think it is not completely respectful to focus attention on every post that you are not interested in?
If the post showed how to crack a usb protection dongel id be all for it but advertising a company in which you need to email your legit dump from a usb and then get a quote for the crack from them. Na mate not on.

I can't find the way to read messages or start a hackaday account.
The LaTeX equation editor inserts the LaTeX image at the top of the project log rather than at the current cursor location. It would be nice to have it insert at the cursor location similarly to the way that inserting an image works. Being able to have the LaTeX inline would be even better.
This is a bug in the editor that has been fixed in an update, along with the ability to edit equations after they have been inserted.
I can't delete my account. I'm signed in with Github, and when I go to "Edit my account" => "Delete my account" and authenticate through Github (I don't have a password since I'm authenticated through Github), the page changes back to the home screen.
