Description

This 8-states Turing machine has 2 tapes. It is made using basic electronic components: logic gates, latches, shift registers, multiplexers, diodes, transistors... Its program is implemented by LEDs plugged into connectors.

I read Alan Turing's famous paper, but I have to admit I didn't understand it! Bamboozled by all the mathematical symbols and typesetting. One day I'll sit down with a fridge full of beer and grapple with it again. Maybe this gadget will help, I understand 1 and 0 and TTL.

The PCB is made with Eagle. Are you interested in the Eagle files, or the Gerber files ?

Thats brilliant, using LEDs to jumper the instructions. I have never seen anything that simple before, awesome. :-D

I used this technique on the NAND 565. Nice result, but quite expensive because of the price of connectors.
