There are already several "implementations" of the tinyjoypad mini-console, but none was actually open, so I couldn't adapt/play with it. This is my take on it. I also wrote a child-friendly interface to allow for changing the game. Indeed ! That was actually the most difficult part to source.. I got those on aliexpress. You need to search for 'button cap 3.2mm', but even they don't fit all. Those ones on the photo are https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001706525334.html

Do you know where I can find a cap with a similar height as the one on the 5-way switch or is it custom? Thank you!
