• THE FINAL DAY

So here we are. the final day. To be sure that everything was working we decide to come 4 hours before the start. And what a good decision, after launching the same code than the last time with the same connection between our component nothing was working. To resolve our problem we ask people some question to learn more about the functionning of our component and we discover that câble coud act as "antenna" and capture some "noise". To avoid those noises we find that using a resistor could be useful, so after some new connection and the implementation of the resistor we resolve the problem of the day. But it was only the first one, because just after the arduino started to crash when we were connecting the accelerometer with the other sensor when we put it in a certain position. So we needed to avoid this position. We are approching the final hour and we had one last test, being sure it's working on tha game. We are launching the game online and nothing is happening, so we were a little stunned, but after some verification it's was working perfectly on everything that we could find on the computer but not on the online game, therefore we thought of downloading it and it was a great idea because our problem was solved and we were ready to show our final project

  • Near the end

We are almost at the end of our project and and near the final date for the project, so it's time to combine all our work and design the final product. But before doing it we had a little issue with one of our sensor, after almost an hour of hard work and research we failed, so we decided to use another sensor wich after some test was working way better than the old one. After resolving our little issue and plug-in all the component on the arduino board we decided to lengthen some cables, and to do this we had to enamel some copper cables and solder some cables.

  • Our Process

So, on the first week, we pooled all our ideas together, searching for interesting games that we could play and that would be fun. We spent a good amount of time looking for the ideal game that suited us. After discussing it, we decided to go with the game "Subway Surfer." We delved deeper into researching the game mechanics, exploring various strategies, and studying gameplay videos to understand its dynamics better.

The second week, we pooled ideas for movements in our game. For instance:

    • For "Go up": Jump on a plank.
    • For "Go down" (perform a roll): Descend, and our lack of presence will be detected by a sensor, we bend down, and in the game, the character also bends down.
    • Shake balls/controllers to advance.

Then, during the third week, we searched for the necessary components to create the game "Subway Surfer" as we envisioned. We also studied the components required and how to use them. We consulted websites and watched videos that explained how to use these components, providing us with an overview of the components we would need to play the game. During this week we also filled out the Excel sheet to place orders for our components.

During the next weeks, our focus was dedicated to coding the programs required for various sensors, including the accelerometer, ultrasonic sensor, and shake sensor . We meticulously designed our projet in cardboard and implemented these programs (we attached our programs and a picture of our projet in cardboard in the ...).
