Using low-cost common materials and the availability of cheap computing devices, Autodro is a project that aims to build a complete hydroponic system for 1 plant for under $10. It's to be designed to allow additional system to be added to provide increasing food production.
Goals for Autogrow:
* Monitoring system, checking that nutrient, ph, water and light levels are optimal.
* Messaging system, to allow for remote viewing and control.
* Inexpensive hydroponic container, to allow for fast growth in both the plant and the overall system.
The end goal for the Autodro is a complete monitoring system for under $10. This means that cheaper, simpler, less accurate sensors are needed. I've started with a simple EC sensor, and am hoping to design something around $1.
So far, I've created a sensor using a Wheatstone bridge, and have ordered a PCB from OSHPark.
