My first attempt at DIY CNC machine, back in 2015-2016. 12mm plywood, drawer slides, threaded rod, DIY transistor-based stepper driver, PIC18F controller, Dremel spindle... it was slooow, unreliable, but a good opportunity to learn quite a lot!
My DIY, low-cost, desktop CNC machine, version v2.0. Built in 2018. Aluminium square extrusion frame, ball bearings, 400W spindle, Arduino/RAMPS driver. Much improved reliability, but the frame is still a bit flexible, so accuracy is so-so.
