I was inspired by Van Neistat's (Casey Neistat's brother) phone stand. Van uses his stand in his car. However, I required a wider use case. So I added a magnet to the bottom "foot" to mount to any beam, fence, chair, shelf, door, etc.

The "foot" attaches to a go-pro inspired tilt mechanism. With the tilt mechanism attaching to a screw-phone mount. Though it's important to note I cannibalized the screw-phone mount from a tripod I was using before. Everything else was 3D printed and found at the hardware store. (magnet, 1/4" hex bolts, wing nut).
