Hi @Roddy "Rags" Read - Actually it has in "More" dropdown menu as "Blog". Thanks!
[this comment has been deleted]
If you go to view project log: It shows Sort by "Oldest" on the dropdown, but actually shows"Newest". It won't show the "Oldest" until you select "Newest" and then "Oldest".
that's why the behaviour was so odd the other day - I can confirm this
Being able to write in Markdown would be a huge improvement! We use markdown on GitHub, GitLab, and lots of teamwork apps, so why not on Hackaday as well?
I like the rich text editor, but (at least on Chrome in Linux) it's still very buggy and difficult to use.
Thanks, I like markdown too. We have an ongoing list of issues to take care of with the current editor. Markdown support should be there too.
By the way: I REALLY like this community, I even have Adblock deactivated for this domain :)
Would donations help you to hire people and get stuff done faster?! I guess there would be lots of people sending you a few bucks now and then to keep this community alive and more bug-free!
Appreciate the thought Jan, but the community feedback is more valuable :)
I'm trying to embed twitter videos in my project logs.
https://hackaday.io/project/159049-portable-kite-power/log/148704-initial-tests
The video doesn't show in the log page. You have to leave and go to twitter... Can the content be more readily available / more on the page?
I've probably done it wrong
Are you using the embed tweet code? It might be something we have to add in support for.
Hello! I created my first project page yesterday but when I checked this morning, it appears to have been removed. It was a pretty simple page so I doubt it violated any rules. https://hackaday.io/project/159342-pisolaris
There is an API https://hackaday.io/project/5602-hackaday-api
So i have to register an App, consume OAuth and convert JSON to XML to create myself an RSS feed?
Please reconsider your answer.
Oh, that feed is only an xml-view of /feed?
Too bad, i always felt that /feed is utterly useless. Who could possibly be interested in every single comment, like or update of any user on HADio? Right now it shows 30 likes of the same person (seemingly on a like spree).
i have two account and i want to merge this, but i cant get my username "metover"
Your list of followed and liked projects? https://hackaday.io/projects/hacker/324828/likesandfollows
Project log pages keep freezing when I try to edit them. I use Vivaldi browser. Is it a known issue? Would you like more detail?
Win 7 pro 64. It's ok until I enter a cursor and try input anything. just freezes.
@Ivan Lazarevic already looked into this. Seems to be the third party editor of hackaday.io which doesn't work with vivaldi. It won't be fixed. I just use FF for hackaday now...
Just tried it with the recent version of Vivaldi 2.5.1525.48 (Stable channel) and it works now. Don't know if it was a fix in Vivaldi or here on Had.io. I don't care. It works :)
The notification feed is a mess. I see comments on random projects from people that I follow. But most of the comments on my own projects are not displayed. This is not acceptable.
I would gladly follow more people but that would completely flood the feed.
Is there any way to fix that?
Email notifications don't work as well because the account is connected to Github.
Thanks Max, we also have a request for a notifications area (your likes/comments/etc) separate from the feed.
Hi! In my private feed, I would like to see updates to the projects I'm following. Currently though, this feed is flooded with random people liking, commenting or following these projects. It would be nice if there was a way to filter this noise out. That would also make it a lot easier to find new projects to follow!
One more thing, Hackaday black color background and white text contrast hurts my eyes! If I can afford a lawyer, you may get sue. Can you guy liberate us to change color scheme? At least allow green text in black background. It just hurts. I don't want to read my stuffs even I wrote it.

Can you add option to write log in markdown? It is pain to switch between HTML and text to do simple format thing like heading and etc.
I have noticed an issue with email notifications. The configuration page allows you to select all of the events which cause an email to be sent, but not all events work as expected. A few days ago I received an email notifying me that someone had like a project of mine. Right after they liked the project they left a comment on the project that I didn't notice until a few days later because I was never notified. I noticed the disclaimer "MAXIMUM ONE EMAIL PER HOUR" at the bottom of the settings page. It seems that I was never sent a notification of the comment because an email was sent to notify that a project was liked just moments before.
I understand the need to limit emails to one per hour, but this causes information to be lost if a lot of activity happens at once on your profile. Would it be possible to get a "Notifications" feature at the top of the page? Something like the "Feed" but a stream of likes, comments, and follows. An email of initial activity would be enough to get someone to check the site for more detailed information (allowing the email throttling to remain in place, but providing more granular information for those of us that miss things often).
I believe that all of them are in your feed, with all other feed activities, and it might not be easy to see them. I'll add your request into our backlog. thank you.

we'll look into this. and we'll try to go with a higher number in the fix : )
this is fixed now. unfortunately, the lower number is the correct one : )
Replace GitHub links with a company that isn't evil, thanks!!!
we should get rid of all centralized websites, like hackaday and github - they are all evil, we should go back and host evrything our selfsnow that we found out github wanted to make money, and now has a owner that makes it possible to runt he service for almost forever.
Can you add GitLab to the "add network" dropdown on the project creation page?
Probably, there is always the other category too, the only difference is no custom icon.
Alternatively, they could remove all suggested sites entirely to avoid any sense of favoritism. But I'd guess that they get paid by GitHub and Dropbox, making that unlikely!
Are you implying that hackaday is under the control of Microsoft now?

Why doesn't the Hackaday.io page have links to Hackaday.com content?
