Basically I forgot I even had an account here until I got an email. The PCB has been redesigned about 25 times. Finally got a one sided design I'm happy with. The PCB has been milled and drilled, all of the components soldered. Everything works as intended....
Thanks for the followers and likes! :)After some more testing of version 2, everything looks good, so we uploaded our schematics and PCB design files (in KiCAD 5). It still is not the final version, but it works as intended and we found no hardware problems...
I had some time over the holidays, so I made some progress on the PCB. A new footprint for the buttons and for the screen connector, routed everything except for the screen. Next I will need to add a truckload of capacitors for the screen, and bunch...
On this picture you can see how looked like our version 1 device. It was consisted of modules which were connected together with one PCB. On that way we were able to test modules really fast. But to spare size of box, and make it more robust, we transfered...
Hello guys, in the latest tests on the GNSS I detected some problems due to poor signal, the position not always be accurate, I reviewed the pcb design and the schematics and at the first look everything looked like be ok.after a few hours I realized...
Took a few days, but i've finally finished the PCB design for all the components of the detector.I know i'm posting everything in one day, but this took a loong while. Schematic editing and picking parts took about 1 day, PCB layout took another one....
I'm picking this back up, but my PCB design is in a sorry state, and I'm rusty on the circuit anyway. So my new plan is to build a perfboard version first, and then go back to PCB design. So far I have collected nearly everything, but I can't find my...
Status 7/17/2020:Parts arrived! I just built up the first board. However, I somehow forgot to order a simple 3-terminal voltage regulator! Argh!!! So, that's on order now. The rest is together and everything fits - I just haven't powered it up yet.Status...
As usual, everything starts with the PCB design.Nothing fancy. The minimal SAMD21 schematic with USB, plus six keys with diodes, a LED and a programming header. As usual in my projects the header has staggered pins to allow plugging in a male header...
I built a small test circuit for the CD4026 decade counters and 7 segment LEDs and connected it up to Ben Eater's clock, which I built a while ago. All good, everything worked.Next up: build the 1Hz crystal oscillator test circuit. After that,...
After a quick mini project to make a 3d printed back shell for the joystick connector, wired up a Revision 2 PCB with extra interface for the i2c level shifting. An extra strip board pcb was created with 2n7000 level shifters. The PCB 3.3V...
Components are placed, trying to use the fewer space possible in a 2-layer PCB: Then, exporting the files from Kicad to FreeRouting tool, the layor is made: Finally, the PCB is filled with GND copper planes, and imported to KICAD again: And now everything...
If you'd like to purchase an I/O Expander kit for your PiDP-11, assembled boards are available for purchase from Tindie: https://www.tindie.com/products/sstallion/pidp-11-io-expander-kit/ This kit contains everything needed to expand the I/O...
It's been a while since the last update as I've been busy with some 3D printer tweaks, waiting on parts, rethinking the approach, and other stuff. After experimenting with battery life calculation and measuring out dimensions, I'm getting closer and closer...
