The Parallax Hackable Electronics Badge is by far the most open conference badge ever created. It also has an OLED display. That means I can put the Hackaday logo on my badge.
Because the hackaday logo is cooler than the OSHW logo.

At the OHSummit, I was joined by Amber Cunningham, community manager of Tindie. While Hackaday and Tindie have the same overlords ruling over them, we can't really have Amber going around with a Hackaday logo on her badge, can we?
...So I spent 15 minutes putting the Tindie dog head on the badge. Pic, source bitmap, and code (poorly formatted) below.

Read more »The Parallax Hackable Electronics Badge should be familiar to DEF CON 20 and 22 attendees. It's a parallax propeller with a few resistive buttons, an accelerometer, and an OLED display. The OLED display is kind of cool, and when it boots, it displays the OSHW logo. As a vetrain of the Gear Wars, I like the OSHW logo, but there's a better logo out there: the Skull and Wrenches.
Pixelated, but the badge only has a 128x64 display. Here's the source graphic I used:
The boot logo for he badge can be changed to the Jolly Wrencher by appending the following code to the bottom of the demo Jon McPhalen sent out for the Open Hardware Summit:

Someone should bring a bunch of cheap nRF24L01+ modules and make some sort of wireless mesh.
I believe it has an IR tx and rx on it.
It's not the badge for the supercon.
I don't know if we're going to do an electronic badge for the supercon. I heard *something* about it, but I don't know if that's happening.
In any event, we're going to have an electronic badge in the works for next year. That will have an 802.15.4 radio in it, and will be used as a 'mesh network chatroom' or something.
Who needs to see the picture of the logo? Just like the guys in the Matrix it's easier to to look at the hex values, right? I found that part of the movie hard to swallow.
Thanks for posting the hex. I'll want to use it in future projects.
Apparently these badges will be available from Parallax soon. (I think they're be around $50 for one, much less if you purchase a bunch.)
If anyone wants to play with these OLED screens they're available at Itead Studio for $5.

I used one of these displays in my Propeller CNC project.

The bouncing logo code in on my GitHub but I was low on RAM so the logo is being read from a SD card each time it is moved on the screen. I plan to clean up my bouncing bitmap and inverted rectangle code once I get dropped from the 2015 Hadaday Prize. Right now I'm too busy building my robot to do anything else (but read Hackaday.io posts).

So is this the badge for the upcoming super conference? https://hackaday.io/event/7777-hackaday-superconference
It needs an RF transceiver.
